For quieter weekends, soak up the sun at the amazing pool deck, then head for sundowner drinks at the nearby dam, go fishing (catch & release only), visit or play golf at neighbouring Zebula (15 minutes), go on game drives in the lodge’s private vehicle or just relax in the beautiful outdoor spaces. Braai in the huge boma which also has a bar area and just enjoy being next to the fire.
The house has an unusual setup – The accommodation is farm style, rather than luxury – Le Thabo is all about being away in a large house with fantastic outdoor spaces. The house accommodates 18 guests at a very reasonable rate
If you want to try your hand at hunting - believe it or not - we can arrange a Professional Hunter to take you hunting.
Ladies - have you ever wanted to do something completely different on a girls' weekend away!! How about someone showing you how to shoot correctly, take you to a shooting range and then if you want to even go and hunt. It's certainly something very different!!
There are 5 bedrooms inside the main house.
At the end of the passage is a new addition to the house which has 2 more bedrooms ... the ground floor bedroom has a double bed and en-suite bathroom with shower as well as another kitchen.
Fully equipped with stove, microwave, fridge - the space helps to cater for such a large group.
This room has sliding doors that leads out to a patio area.
From inside this room - there is a staircase that leads up to a large open bedroom. Double bed with extra lounge area and en-suite bathroom with bath and toilet. Beautiful views from this bedroom which is the only one that currently has air conditioning.
The remaining 3 bedrooms are found outside in an adjoining flat.
2 small bedrooms and 1 larger one which has an en-suite bathroom which is shared amongst all 3. The larger bedroom does not have a private door.
Game drives are a private, personal experience on a farm that has been used in a number of TV commercials because of it's privacy & scenery. These can be arranged for an additional charge.

Zebula Golf & Spa borders Kareefontein and guests staying at Kareefontein are welcome to use all their facilities. Guests exit Kareefontein Gate and then enter Zebula through the Zebula Main Gate

Me and my family had a wonderful time,we loved everything about the place and there was enough space for everyone. The host Heidi was very welcoming and friendly throughout our stay. We are definitely going back!
Fantastic weekend! The lodge though is a little disjointed and not ideal in layout. It is not as luxurious as the average Zebula house but you basically have a game farm, beautiful dam, spectacular pool & boma all to yourself. The bush, nature and sunsets, over the dam, are a real upgrade on Zebula. Catch & release fishing for carp & barble is allowed. The privacy of no neighbours is great. Saw my first wild sable & a number of good game sightings. Access to Zebula is easy but many decide not to leave.
RNR are just the best people in the world :-). The property is great but there are a few things that they need to attend to in order to make it an amazing experience.

You guys are on another level!\nKareefontein Lodge was a perfect private getaway for my family and I. We enjoyed the complete privacy - the only other visitors I saw over 3 days were wild animals. \nThe common facilities are perfect for entertainment and the separation of the buildings meant that the kids had their own private space which they loved.\nThe rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. While the fans made the ambient temperature pleasant, they could definitely use some air conditioning.\nThe pool area is perfect for the kids with enough partial shade to enable us to stay there most of the day.\nThe Boma is intimate and a lekker place to braai and socialise with that total 'in the bush' feeling.\nWe had a great time - the owner was kind enough to let us check out later as we were still having fun on our last day - great service. No quibble. \nThank you all.
EXCELLENT SERVICE .
The experience I had at Lethabo was super exciting, the game drive seeing all the landscape the animal moving up & down was a learning experience. The people at Lethabo are welcoming, helpful, friendly, it would be a great pleasure to go back again & as a visual artist would love to make a live painting of the scenery.

Wonderful experience. Danielle at RnR was super helpful, friendly and efficient. Le Thabo lodge was a delight and the best choice for my boyfriends 30th birthday getaway. The lodge is a beauty in the bush. The owner, Faith was a wonderful host so very helpful and kind. She made us feel right at home straight away. The house is stunning and equipped with everything you’d need. An incredible amount of space outside the porch and bar area that leads to a fabulous pool area. The game drive was beautiful and the stop off at the dam at sunset was a picture perfect moment. Perfect for a getaway with your whole family or a group of friends. I can’t wait for my next visit. Tshidi at RnR was a pleasure to deal with and made booking the getaway very smooth. \n\nThe farm itself is stunning, private and so well suited for memorable family getaways. We all loved the experience of seeing game freely roaming around the farm, especially the kids. The boma, pool area, dam, etc made the farm stay special. Faith, the owner, is an excellent hostess- super friendly , helpful, attentive and always available to attend to you. She really made our stay so enjoyable. \n\nI highly recommend LeThabo lodge - Kareefontein. \nI would use R&R again as well.

Very enjoyable weekend spent with Friends. Friendly Staff, especially Daniel and Ida. Just one suggestion, perhaps a kettle for the gas stove top, to be able to make tea/coffee when the power is out.\nOverall beautiful setting, very comfortable and most enjoyable! Real bushveld experience.

Faith and her staff were super friendly and helpful, and added to the great experience. During the heatwave, some of the fans in the bedrooms weren't working, and can use some upgrades, but overall great and we'll definitely book again. Thank you!
The house needs to be cleaner, like in the bathrooms the cobwebs behind the doors and ceiling corners (look at the 3 outside rooms and bathroom).\nGreat peace and quiet at the property (rating of 5+) and helpfulness and support of Faith was great.\nWendy from RnR gave perfect service and support. Doing that little extra, like loadshedding schedule. I can only command and thank her with a 5++ rating.
