All bathrooms have baths and showers. • Units 2 and 3 have twin showers. • King size beds with accompanying linen and fittings. • Sliding doors out onto a scenic walkway to the entertainment deck. • All units have direct access, via a walkway, to the main entertainment deck. • Ceiling fans • Cupboard storage and vanity unit.
THE SUNDECK & POOL
Outstanding outdoor entertainment area with quality finishes and consisting of: • Partially covered wooden deck with built in braai/barbeque, fire pit and hand basin. • Deck furniture including a table for those outdoor meals while the sun sets over the horizon. Africa at it's best. • Elevated fire pit for those who want to create a true bush ambiance. • \"Infinity\" swimming pool built into the deck and with a feature waterfall down to the weir. (Visits from wildlife are a regular occurrence). Note: please refer to regulations regarding the lighting of fires and noise when outdoors.
he Mabalingwe reserve hosts a range of 54 mammals including the \"Big 5\" of Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Rhino and Buffalo. In addition to this there are also Hippo's, Blue Wildebeest, Burchells Zebra, Giraffe, Warthog, Vervet Monkey, Chacma Baboon, Brown Hyena and Spotted Hyena.
There are 14 types of antelope including Duiker, Klipspringer, Kudu, Bushbuck, Gemsbok, Mountain Reedbuck, Impala, Steenbuck, Eland, Nyala, Sable, Waterbuck, Reedbuck, and Tsessebe.
Among the lesser known cats there are African Civet, Striped Polecat, Small spotted Genet, African Wildcat , Caracal, Small Spotted Cat and Serval.
Smaller mammals include SA Hedgehog, Antbear, Porcupine, Red Rock Rabbit, Springhare, Scrub Hare, Rock Dassie, Tree Squirrel, Pangolin, Slender Mongoose, Dwarf Mongoose, Banded Mongoose, Black Backed Jackal, and Cape Fox.
For those visitors who are really good spotters, and a bit lucky as well, you may be fortunate enough to see Bushpig and Lesser Bushbaby (both nocturnal), Cape Clawless Otter and Honey Badger.
GAME DRIVES
Visitors may access the main reserve areas with their own vehicles but, unless you have a 4 x 4, your game spotting outlook may be restricted to the designated areas particularly if you have a vehicle with low clearance.
You may want to consider the organised game drives offered by Mabalingwe, at various times of the day, including dawn, dusk and night drives. For information and cost please check with Boschpoort Safaris'. Alternatively you may want to consider hiring a game vehicle. Details will be made available when booking. Horseback game trails are also available through Mabalingwe, as well as organised tours of the Lion enclosure of the park.
