- Umhlanga Sands is a semi-self contained 4 star timeshare resort that is situated on the main swimming beach
- These units does not have cooking facilities eg Stove/ oven
Situated right on the main blue flag swimming beach. These timeshare units are rented on a weekly basis that start and end on a Saturday. All units are air-conditioned and serviced daily, including public holidays.
- They provide beach and bath towels
- Baby cots and baby sitting facilities - advisable to pre-arrange
- 2 Restaurants on the premises and plenty of diners within walking distance
- Laundry services - washing machine's and dryers on the premises - tokens/detergents can be obtained at reception
- Shuttle services etc can be arranged at a cost
- This resort has been completely renovated in 2020.
- Units are up-market with flat screen televisions. All units are sea-facing but only the units on the 1st to the 4th floor have large balconies. From the 5th floor upwards, there are no balconies excluding all the 6 sleepers that have their own balcony.
- Umhlanga sands is approximately 8 minute walk to the shopping centre and a number of restaurants.
- This is a non smoking resort and all rooms have Dstv with 26 channels (23 Tv and 3 radio).
- An endless choice of leisure activities include - a large swimming pool for the family, a splash pool for little ones, an exclusive adult pool with tanning deck, sauna and jacuzzi. All activity programs are supervised, throughout the year, by a highly energised entertainment team.

Types of rooms:
1. Tugela - 4 sleeper, one double bed in main bedroom together with a small lounge area. 2nd bedroom has 2 single beds in an alcove in the same area where you have a cum-kitchenette. Suitable for 2 adults and 2 children. One toilet/bathroom. Shower in bath tub
2. St Lucia – 6 sleeper, master bedroom with large double bed/en suite, 2nd bedroom has 2 single beds and you have 2 single sleeper couches in the lounge. This unit has 2 baths and 2 toilets. Dining area with a proper table and 6 chairs.
Each kitchen is equipped with microwave, fridge, kettle, crockery and cutlery. You are not allowed to cook in the room. There is no oven
Umhlanga Sands is located on the Umhlanga beachfront with breathtaking panoramic views of the Indian Ocean. A well patrolled promenade runs in front of the hotel, linking all the Tsogo Sun resorts along this magnificent stretch of coastline.
NOTE: Four Sleeper units only, have balconies on floors 1 to 4.
There are no balconies on floors 5 to 17

it is a bad experience if I book unit 412 with you for specific reasons and when I arrive I get a unit on the 11th floor?? STICK to the commitment made with the client please. If you cannot confirm the unit number /floor with the client, then do not do it as you are creating false expectations with unesesary debates at the front desk

Extremely efficient
The unit we stayed in needed a bit of maintenance compared to previous stays. Our external drives did not work on the TV's. It worked on our previous stays. Bit disappointed.
It was very noisy at night when we tried to sleep 12h00, 1 o'clock at night. Indian kids running up and down the hallway making a big noise in the middle of the night. We had to phone security a couple of times.\r\n\r\nA lot of Indian visitors not staying at the Sands took over the swimming pool on Christmas day and New Year. They also mess and dont clean after themselves. Kids will eat or drink something and just throw their rubbish in the hallways and on stairs.\r\n\r\n

The response to this questionnaire is well overdue but would like to direct my comments to the General Manager !!\nOn our return home we realized that we had forgotten a sewing bag , including a tablet of reasonable expense. On phoning however , the bag and\ncontents had already been handed in to security ! We were in room 1019 and I would personally wish to congratulate and thank the lady who was in\ncharge of cleaning our room. Her integrity and honesty exceeds all expectation which can only create a great image for your great resort. I would appreciate a response . Thank you

From the porter to the reception to the housekeeping.. It was a service fit for Royals.\nConvenience with Restaurants and Cocos with karaoke.. A weekend to be reconned with.. I would definitely come back to enjoy the wonderful outdoor facilities.. Hopefully with better weather next time.. Thank you to everyone who helped 10 of us with our stay over this weekend.. Albeit the hype with the Rugby world cup. We are School friends in our 60s.. Comfort was key.. We had it all.
